The State Bank of Pakistan and Pakistani Islamic Banks Jointly felt the need of a platform that creates awareness and promote Islamic Banking products & services among masses. The platform established under the head of IBIOP – Islamic Banking Industry of Pakistan, with 5 full-fledged Islamic Banks (IBs) and 17 conventional banks offering Islamic Banking Products and Services through Islamic banking branches & Windows. According to the Sharia Law, interest in its all forms is prohibited in Islam which is also the key foundation pillar of the conventional banking system. The prime objective of IBIOP is to introduce the Shariah Compliant Banking systems to the consumers, allowing them to have halal investment opportunities and savings, where they can reap benefits financially without having to worry about compromising on their religious beliefs.
